KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Police are asking for the public’s help to identify a woman found dead in the area of 24th and Monroe on Sunday.

Police crime scene tape stretched several city blocks in all directions. Area church members said they were surprised by the presence of police in the area during their Sunday morning service.

The victim is a black woman with a medium complexion. She is approximately 5’1″ and weighs about 200 lbs. Investigators estimate she’s in her mid to late 20s.

She has a tattoo on her lower back, stud lip ring in her lower lip and stud earrings in her ears.

She was also wearing long black and blonde hair extensions, with dyed red cornrows underneath the extensions.

“There is a family that’s missing their loved one right now, so definitely our prayers go out to them, and we want to do all that we can to find out who did this, so again we urge our viewers to help us if they can, please,” Sergeant Kari Thompson with the Kansas City Police Department said.
